*Nationally recognized Trial Lawyer
Andre Gauthier cringes at the mention of an insurance company and it’s not a cringe of fear. It’s the cringe of a fighter ready for action. It is a cringe of burning emotion to take on the insurance company who has wronged another injured client. It is also the cringe of injustice as Gauthier recalls an experience that happened long ago in which an insurance corporation mistreated his family. He dedicated himself to master the legal system, all with the goal of battling insurance companies. “It was a horrible experience. It happened long ago, but I’ll never forget what the insurance corporation did to my family,” said Gauthier. The experience was life-changing. As a result, he enrolled in the Southern University Law Center and immersed himself in the law. He obtained his juris doctorate degree and later, studied under the direction of Gerry Spence, considered by many to be the greatest trial lawyer in America. Gauthier is a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming; founded by Gerry Spence.
He loves the practice of serious personal injury law, focusing his attention to brain, spinal column and nerve injuries. Gauthier is respected as a trial lawyer seeking to right the injustices that the wealthy, powerful insurance industry inflicts on ordinary, average Americans.
Representing injured families against these major insurance corporations is something that burns deep within him. Gauthier says that forcing insurance companies to follow the law, "fuels me, energizes my life and satisfies my soul. My career is about leveling the playing field and getting justice for people who really need it.”
He is looked upon as one of the finest civil trial lawyers in the State of Louisiana and in the nation. As lead trial counsel for Gauthier & Amedee, he has received national recognition for his powerful victories in the courtroom. Once in the courtroom, many say he is force to be taken seriously.
He is a member of the Louisiana Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
Gauthier received a Catholic elementary education, graduated from East Ascension High School in Gonzales, Louisiana, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Louisiana State University, with a minor in Zoology, the study of animals. He has been married to his wife, Sheree, for more than 20 years. They have two children.
